Planning for success

Whether it’s a simple digital print run or a unique high-end product, a little planning at the start gives your project the best chance of being completed efficiently.

Think about:

…the brief
What do I want to create—what is the product?
How big, how long, how many?
When do I need it for?
…the design
Do I have a graphic designer who will take care of the design stage or do I need creative assistance?
How do I (or my designer) set up the design for the output I want—the binding type, fold pattern, output type and size?
…the production
What will my product be printed on? This may be the paper stock and weight, the type of banner, the poster substrate etc.
How is it best printed or output?
…the proofing and preparation
Who is going to check the proofing stage and sign off on the artwork? My designer, me or both?
Where do I want the product delivered?

We can show you how your products can be enhanced with the use of special finishings such as engraving, foil stamping, embossing or spot UV coatings.
Let our team work with you to guide your creative inspiration from idea to completion and delivery.

Foiling is the application of a thin, metallic layer on the surface.
A UV coating lays a shiny, reflective surface to highlight selected parts of the page.
Embossing raises a part of the page in a specific shape. This requires a special die shape to be made. Finishing effects are often used in combination. In this example, portions are also coated with a reflective UV layer.
Here is an example of foiled, embossed text with a surrounding UV pattern.
Debossing is the opposite of embossing. In this example, the text is pushed into the surface of the cover.

Costing your project

Your planning allows us to provide accurate estimates on both cost and timeframe.
To provide a print or output quote we need to know:

the type of product
the dimensions (the likely size, length, number of pages, size of banner etc)
the quantity
the finishing (any special effects required, the type of binding, type of fittings or mounting for signs or banners)
the delivery destination
when it’s needed it for.

Consider the environment

As a customer, you can:

receive a soft-proof, saving transport costs
purchase from a full range of paper stocks, including most environmentally accredited stocks
warehouse bulk printed material, with later deliveries made at your request (increasing production efficiency, and often, reducing the unit cost).

On your behalf, we:

use environmentally friendly inks and consumables in prepress and printing
recycle of all recyclable waste including offcut paper, aluminium plates and consumables.
